My bridesmaids and flower girls picked out their dresses, were measured, and placed their orders well over 3 months prior to the wedding date. We were told that in order to guarantee the same dye lot (so that all dresses would be made from the same bolt of cloth), they would not be ordered until all girls had been measured. Long story short, the dresses trickled in one after the other starting 2 weeks before the wedding. The last 3 came in 5 days before the wedding. Talk about panic over getting alterations done!! While we understand that the dresses were custom made and coming from California, we received extremely poor customer service. Since the dresses were paid for in full up front, the store owner exhibited no concern whatsoever that our dresses may not make it in time for the wedding. She simply stated it was not her problem, that the dresses should have been ordered sooner. Clearly there is a gap in communication between her staff and their customers. We were assured at the time of purchase that 3 months was more than enough time for the dresses to come in--that the time line was anywhere from 6-12 weeks. The dresses were ordered 15 weeks prior to the wedding date. There was no indication or warning from the staff that we should have ordered sooner. I have never felt so insignificant as a consumer--if you are a bride, do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. You do not deserve to be treated like you don't matter. What really gets me is that when we compared the dye lots after all the dresses finally came in, they were from 3 different dye lots--so the owner's reasoning behind the delay that they were all being cut from the same bolt of cloth was a total lie.
