As an avid gardener who has moved often, it seems like I am always looking for a local nursery/garden center. Burger and Sons is an outstanding choice for both novice and master gardeners. They have a variety of trees, shrubs, and perennials. They carry Pennsylvania Pride plants which allow them to give a 3 year guarantee on all these products. Also carry White Flower Farm Perennials, which is a really nice line of plants. They have been very helpful in teaching me the specs of the Mountain Top area, what is deer resistant, what isn't, etc. Their annuals are not the most varied but frankly, I don't use them for that particular product, although they do carry a good variety of herbs.I have also used their mulch and topsoil and have been happy with both products. They also carry a few lines of organic soil ammendments, including grass gertilizers. I have just started using these products and am very happy with the results. Overall, their pricing is higher than you'll find in a big box store, but their products are better as well. This is a family owned business, now in it's second generation, and the pride they take in their business shows. It is my favortie garden center in the Wilkes-Barre, Mountain Top area.
