I recently had my first dining experience at Nino's and was so overwhelmed by the breadth of its quality that I felt compelled to write a review and see what others were saying. Ahem, ""chicken parm was average,"" does not quite cut it. My wife and I met a couple we know there for dinner to mark their wedding anniversary. We had some great drinks at the bar, and could not get enough of their signature cocktails. They also have Peroni on draft, just like my other favorite Italian place in the area-Dish in the Southside. There is definitely a correlation between the two-great drinks, delicious food, romantic dim lighting (lamp lighting actually, so charming!). We had some oysters on the half shell and stuffed clams at the bar until our table was ready, and can't say enough about the bartender, she was so accomodating to our raucous quartet, and gave us a complimentary round of prosecco to toast the occasion. Our server was excellent and a total hoot (please request Kim if you go). My wife and I tried some delicious Manhattan clam chowder, shared a heaping tuscan salad for two, then were blown away by veal milanese and homemade crabmeat ravioli, respectively. The building itself is nearly worth the trip, with tiffany lamps, old photos and paintings, and antiques on the walls. I'll have to go back a bunch more times before I can officially rank Nino's up there with my longtime favorite, Dish, but it doesn't have too far to go, based on first impressions. An authentic delight.
