Review content:
A guy who sounded like he answered from his basement (REDFLAD 1) quoted me $215. When I said I needed to call around, he said he'd check with his ""supervisor,"" then all of a sudden they had a ""special"" that lowered it to 197...um why didn't you offer me that special to begin with (REDFLAG 2)? He pressured me to make an appt. even though they couldn't get out to me until the next day afternoon between 12-5p with NO obligation (REDFLAG 3). I waited all day. A different person answered each time I checked on status (REDFLAG 4). 1st time, they called but didn't leave a msg and said it was my fault because I didn't pick up. What legitimate business doesn't leave msgs to confirm appts (REDFLAG 5)? 2nd day, they sent me on a goose chase having me call the late technician myself but gave me a number that had been disconnected (REDFLAG 6). I finally canceled their service so they showed up in 30 mins. Spoke to 3 people before the last guy who argued with me that I was obligated because the technician was outside my house (kinda scary for being a female and my car exposed) and challenged my honesty when I said I missed 2 days of work waiting for them. He kept pressuring me and offered to lower the price again when I said Master Glass quoted a much lower rate (with no ""special"") and was on its way. He hung up on me (REDFLAG 7). It's been 2 days and 10 Excedrins since calling Glass Doctor and still no glass repair. It was obvious they intentially took advantage of my desperate situation and the fact that I'm female (HARSH REALITY).\r
\r
I finally called Master Glass out of desperation. What a relief to hear Carrie's upbeat voice...a genuinely friendly, professional and helpful human being! She said ""no worries, we'll be out in 45 mins and quoted me 169 off the bat."" Oscar came out sooner than 45 mins and got right to work in 85 degree heat! \r
Oscar is an expert at his craft. My glass ended up not being shattered inside my door frame. The loud crackling sound as I opened my window was the regulator (motor) going out. The glass was just stuck in the door but intact. Oscar (McGyver!) lifted the glass and inserted a small ply of wood inside the door and sealed the window from the inside with duct tape to keep the window shut and my car safe. The quick fix was so clean you can't even see the duct tape from the outside and barely notice it from the inside. He basically bought me time to fix it. \r
\r
Even more, Carrie offered to call the dealership for the part price and come out to replace it the next day. Wow that's proactive and great customer service! I couldn't commit to the regulator repair that day and they still waived the labor fee...and said ""just call us if you need."" I really felt like I was being taken care of by my family. Oscar even refused to take a tip. I insisted on at least a small tip and water for the heat but he deserved much more. \r
Cons: It's likely not corporate Glass Doctor and just this one
