Review content:
I think I've tried every Korean restaurant in the Portland metro area and Hae Rim is head and shoulders above the rest!! As a Korean, I know what passes for good Korean food and what doesn't. When you walk in and you see that most, if not all, diners are Korean, you know that's a good sign. The kimchi jigae (kimchee stew) is outstanding. Better than my mom's (and she's a good cook). The kalbi short ribs were so flavorful and the MOST TENDER I've ever had. Everything I've ordered here has been superb so you really can't go wrong. The service is attentive and kind, very uncharacteristic for a Korean restaurant. I'm glad Portland (well, Beaverton) finally has a great Korean restaurant! I'm taking my parents here when they visit Portland.
Pros: Excellent food
Cons: No bbq at table (but at least you won't smell like smoke afterwards!)
