Review content:
Ok, there are 3 Gosman's places to eat: The inside restaurange, the take-out window where you sit outside, and the upstairs restaurant, Topside.\r \r This is a review for the outside, take-out window, not the inside restaurant.\r \r Only 2 stars because I had 2 totally different experiences on a Friday and a Saturday. My Friday experience would have gotten 4 or 5 stars. My Saturday experience sucked, so rating goes down to 2.\r \r I will break it down:\r \r Friday: We went on the early side with 4 people for dinner. My food (Grilled Salmon sandwich with cole slaw and fries) was excellent. I had wanted to stay away from a whole lot of greasy fried food, which is why I ordered the grilled salmon. The sandwich was still a little on the oily side, as in, the grease dripped from the fish and formed a pool on the tray, but other than that, the salmon tasted really good (and I love salmon). It wasn't too crowded and there were plenty of available tables.\r \r Saturday: I wanted to try something different, so I ordered the soft shell crabs. The girl whom we ordered from asked if I wanted to sandwich or the platter. I asked her if the sandwich comes with fries and cole slaw (since my sandwich yesterday did), and she says yes. Apparently, she had no idea what she was talking about, because no, it did not, while the platter did. What I got was a huge bun, huge lettuce, huge tomato slice and a deep fried crab that was smaller than my cell phone. It tasted absolutely discusting. Coming from a fish lover who will try anything, it tasted like dead fish azz. Had it come with fries, I could have at least eaten those, but no, because the chick at the counter doesnt know what she's doing. Not happy. \r \r The seating, to put it nicely, is extremely family friendly. It seemed like everyone in Montauk with a small child in a stroller was at Gosmans the same time as we were. It was almost a fight to get a seat. When we went to sit down, some dad almost yelled at us that his daughter wanted to sit there. Umm, nobody was at the table, which is why we sat, but apparently we should have telepathically known that his kid wanted THAT seat. Sorry, Im not gonna argue in front of a kid, but the dad was an a-hole. \r \r SO, I have no recomendations for Gosmans because one experience was really good, and one was really bad.....
