Purchased a cake for my twins' first birthday party. My wife asked them to decorate it a certain way, which they charged an extra $10 to do (fine if it came out right to begin with, but it looked ridiculous!). Ordered the cake Wednesday, got the cake on Friday, party was Saturday. The cake went from the store to my house (5 min away) and put in the fridge until the party. When we opened the box and placed the cake on the table to serve, it STUNK like baby VOMIT!!! All the parents were mortified as were we! Packed the cake back in the box, inside a container because of the horrid smell with plans to return it the following day. Needless to say, the kids got no cake and were all very upset about it. Luckily my wife baked cupcakes (Which were better than what this bakery could offer!). Came back to the store and explained to the kid behind the counter. He opened the box and took a whiff and immediately smelled the disgusting, rancid odor. His face said it all. He went back to get the owner/baker, who came out with a smirk on his face saying there was nothing wrong with the cake and that it was the old fashioned butter cream that smelled like that. He said he wouldn't refund me for a cake that had nothing wrong with it. He even cut a piece and ate it in front of me still sticking to his guns that there was nothing wrong with the cake. He offered to RE-ICE THE EXISTING, CUT-INTO CAKE!! Who does that? WHY WOULD I GO TO A BAKERY WITH AN UNCUT CAKE AND DEMAND MY MONEY BACK IF THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAKE??? IDIOT! After arguing with the tool for about 10 minutes, I left the cake there and took off. I'll be calling my bank for a refund due to lack of service provided/defective product! This place is an absolute joke, only came here because it is local, NEVER AGAIN!! STAY AWAY, the owners stink as bad as their cakes!!
