If you read this complaint you get to know the other side of this company, the side that they may not want you to know. We have been living in a property for about a year and have not been getting any water bills, fine no problem we thought, maybe the owner is paying it, we never discussed water bills with the owner. Late last night we arrived home with our two tired kids and put them to sleep, about an hour after we arrived home my wife says there is no water flowing, strange we though, so we called some neighbors to find out if they too had the problem, and they said they had no water problem. I called up United Water and reached the after hours emergency line, a man sounding very annoyed asked what the problem is, why am I calling at this hour and why don't I just call in the next day? I said I have two little kids and cannot wait till tomorrow with no running water (and no bathrooms) I had to wake the kids and relocate to family of mine at 10 in the evening. Next morning I called the offices of United Water and was told that to get the water flowing we will have to pay over $2,500!! I could not believe it, the fact that no bills or notices were sent, we had absolutely no idea that the bills were not being paid, is it legal for them to just cut off the water supply without sending a bill or cutoff warning? and why should I have to pay a water bill for when I was not even at the property (from 2004)? The professional conduct of this company is apparently non existent, I was told by a woman rep that she has nothing to discuss with me, just pay up (including all those years that there was a different tenant at the property) Figured the least I could do was write about it
