On Aug. 17 I reunited at Williams Restaurant in Gardner with one of my best friends. (I had moved from MA just before entering high school. Three years later, we saw each other for the last time before losing touch.) We had recently been connected through another mutual junior hi friend, who found me on Facebook. To say we had a lot to catch up on, over 40 year's worth, is quite an understatement! \r \r My lobster roll was great and my friend, Donna, was very pleased with her fajitas, hold the meat (She's vegetarian.) The prices are reasonable, but the service was incredible! \r \r Our reunion was fabulous! The staff at Williams allowed us to linger and talk for about five hours. We exchanged presents and life stories, until we were exhausted. Then, Cindy came around from the bar and took three snapshots for us, working to try to get the best light. \r \r Only after my friend dropped me back at our motel, did I realize I had left my purse. Donna didn't have it, when I reached her. I talked to Cindy, back at Williams. I was probably too tired to panic, but that teeny little purse held about $400, cash, close to $500. in traveller's checques, all my credit cards, my phone, blue tooth, passport and driver's license. When I mentioned I didn't have a car, Cindy said I could pick it up in the morning, if it would be easier. I told her we were leaving for Canada at 9:00 am. The restaurant didn't open until 11:30. NO PROBLEM! Cindy got off shift about a half-hour later and, true to her word, delivered my purse, completely in tact and refused to take anything for her service and trouble. She simply stated, ""Stop back into the restaurant, when you can."" If I ever get back to Gardner, you can bet I will! I can truly say this was one of the most memorable dining experiences of my life and I am extremely grateful to Cindy for being such a good Samaritan! Pros: Above and Beyond...Service was more than I ever expected!
