Review content:
This is a continuing-ed center for counselors and therapists, and, as such, provides a low-cost solution for metal health counseling for the uninsured or underinsured. It's also a mixed bag in terms of the experience level of the couselors; some are, indeed, pretty inexperienced, but there are also some with masters degrees who are getting more hours for a PhD, etc. It might take some experimentation to find someone who will work for you, but with the low fees, you can afford to do so. You can also just ask for someone experienced if that's what you're comfortable with. Personally, I have been seeing a counselor with a master's in social work, and she's been great so far. With counseling, you can't expect to find the perfect counselor right off the bat -- they're people, too, and any individual therapist can't possibly be right for every patient. But even an imperfect counselor can still give objective advice (which a friend can't necessarily do).
Pros: Low cost, can find good care here
Cons: Can also find bad care, if you're not careful
