i had gotten a cake at lucy's for my daughter's second birthday (four years ago) and i wasn't thrilled. it was a white with strawberry creme seseme street cake. although it looked cute, it tasted like play dough. i didn't go back until recently when i was planning my wedding. lucy's was apart of the package the venue offered. as i looked through their portfollio all i saw was 80's/90's style cakes. when i asked the worker if they could do something unique ( like today's style cakes) she got offended. although they weren't original....the wedding and groom cakes looked nice and were good tasting. i then ordered a anniversary cake for my in laws as asked them to recreate their cake. it came out looking similar and taste good. i ordered a under the sea cake for my daughter from a picture they had ....that came out good BUT when i ordered a GARDEN cake for my daughter's sixth birthday i swore to NEVER go back again!!!! I told the lady i wanted a garden cake for my daughter who was with me when i ordered it. i asked if they had any simular pictures to look at. she said NO. however, i placed the order. the day before the party lucy's called and talked to my husband. they asked him if it was a vegetable garden or a flower garden. my husband stated ""A flower garden for my daughter's 6th birthday"" so... when we went to pick the cake up i expected lot's of flowers butterflies, ladybugs. NO, I GOT A CAKE WITH A SIDE WALK AND SMALL RED FLOWERS ALONG IT!!! THE UGLIEST CAKE EVER!!! so i complained i told them i was upset because my daughter was having a garden party which was pink and green.i told them what i expected and what i got. all the lady could tell me was that I COULD PURCHASE PLASTIC ITEMS TO TRY AND DRESS IT UP!!! excuse me but, what kind of (you know what) is that? I WILL NEVER GO BACK. if you want to take a gamble on lucy's be very, very specific.
