Review content:
This is where we go every Saturday morning for breakfast. We know the waitresses and managers and they stand and/or sit down to visit with us every chance they get. We rarely get a 'bad' meal. And if we do, it's so rare that we usually don't say anything. A wonderful 'pie' place. Also the sweet rolls have been amazing! Their Oriental Chicken Salad is my favorite of any I've had anywhere - ever. They sometimes get behind on the cleaning of the bathrooms during busy times. And is this place ever BUSY! For Sunday dinners there are waiting times of about 20 minutes with long lines. On Sunday they have a dinner buffet. On Thursday evenings they have a pasta buffet, though we have never utilized it; and it smells great and seems popular. They have a Friday night buffet, similar to their Sunday buffet, and is quite popular. During these buffets, they still have the regular menu to choose from, if you choose not to eat from the buffet. My husband says the coffee here is the best of all restaurants in Willmar. The baker they had for the past 30 years recently retired, so we're unsure how their cinnamon and caramel rolls will be in the future, but in the past they've been the 'best' and huge! served with soft whipped butter! We see lots of friends and acquaintances in this place. It's a down homey, comfortable place to eat with great food and smiling faces. If you're a person who desires quiet and a 'quiet' waitress also, you may desire to go elsewhere. Some of the waitresses speak up with a somewhat loud voice to the customers when it's full and busy, which is quite frequent. Unless we're desiring ambience or we're celebrating something special, this is our favorite place to eat.
Pros: Down home comfortable feel with good parking area, service & food value. CINNAMON ROLLS!
Cons: Loud when it gets busy, which is frequent. A typical family restaurant.
