It's sad to see this local chain go down hill as fast as it did, I remember going to Winsteads being an acutal treat, the burgers were thin with crispy edges, the steak fries hot and not greasy, and the shakes...OMG the shakes. \r

Anyway last year when I moved back to KC and took my kids there the place had totally changed, while the burgers were almost as good as I remember them, the rest of the food left me wanting for the Winsteads of my childhood. The fries were greasy, the shake was not as good as I remember, and the service was insanely bad. This place has been a local favorite for years, but now it's just filled with tourists and people here on business all the locals have started going to Bob's Big Boy instead. \r

What used to be my favorite Friday night treat has turned into some very average version of my favorite burger.
Pros: Burgers are still crispy and melty
Cons: Service (non existent), horrible fries
