Review content:
A representative by the name of ""Kelly"" for Affordable Home Security (a subcontractor for ADT) came to our door at 8 p.m. on a weekday night claiming he had a promotional offer. I began to close the door and state we weren't interested but he actually got in my face and blocked the door from shutting to keep talking. When I tried to insist we weren't interested, we walked right into my house without me inviting him in. I was shocked. I said, ""Excuse me, but I didn't invite you in. Please leave."" He told me it would only take a few minutes and walked right to my kitchen table and started asking questions about our house (most common entrance, finished or unfinished basement, etc.) and even commented that we had a nice house with nice electronics. I was very nervous and upset - especially since this jerk ignored my request to leave and invaded my home uninvited. I asked to see his ID and to cut to the chase, but he kept evading me. Finally, I told him very directly that we were not interested and to leave my house immediately. He objected and tried to argue with me and didn't get up right away. I walked to the door, opened it and said, ""Get the hell out of my house or I WILL call the cops."" He claimed that no one has ever kicked him out of their house for a promotional deal, blah blah blah. He finally left (after several minutes of refusing my very clear and direct order to leave my property). I felt like he was casing my house. I found out he did this to two other neighbors just around the corner. If these are the tactics this company uses, ADT should cease its contract with them ASAP. Unprofessional, aggressive and rude, not to mention criminal to barge into someone's house uninvited. I have filed a complaint with my local police department and urge anyone who has the misfortune of coming across this shady company to run in the other direction. And DON'T open your door or give these ""promotional"" reps an inch. This ordeal has left me scared for my family's security and safety; ironic since this is a security company. Affordable Home Security should do well to advise its marketers to use less aggressive tactics or risk angering the wrong homeowner. No means no!
