When I announced my engagement to my mother, she told me that I had to go to Das Meyer and at least do a tasting for the cakes. I first went to a number of other locations and left it as my final destination. I didn't walk in expecting much, since most cakes we had tried were either too sweet or bland. I was floored by not only how tasty the cakes were, but how many options there were, too.
I then went online to look at Das Meyer's reviews, and was a little concerned at first over a few negative reviews that I saw, but my mother assured me that they were the bakery to go with. I'm so glad that I did!
Not only have we received the best-tasting cakes out there for the wedding (there was hardly anything left at the end of it!), but we experienced absolutely wonderful customer service!
As for the negative comments, most seem to come from people who forget that Das Meyer is a family-owned, mom-and-pop environment. They simply can't afford to jump through hoop after hoop just because someone bought something that they didn't like or they didn't properly articulate their needs. Consider of the amount of money it must cost them to have the tastings every single Saturday alone! They are, by far, the kindest and most thoughtful folks and they will work with you to make sure that your wedding cake(s) are unforgettable!
Kudos to Rachel (our wonderful sales associate), Dennis (our fabulous baker), and Zach (our cake decorator--awesome job)! I highly recommend them, and we will be using them for every significant event in the future!
