Review content:
The Gaylord in Grapevine ,just north of DFW airport in Grapevine,TX, is a wonderful resort. I was there for a convention & the setup with the covered parking, convention center & hotel all in one place was very convenient. Although smaller than the Nashville Gaylord, it has the same atrium covered greenhouse layout. The landscaping inside and outside is spectacular with jogging trails out to Lake Grapevine. My standard room on the 8th floor faced the lake with great sunset views. They are building a hotel annex so I don't know how long those views will last . A separate nightclub is on the lake across from the lobby& besides dj's and local bands offer visiting country western singers. There were indoor fireworks on Friday night ( during the summer ) which was an unusual treat. Staff were helpful & friendly. The outdoor pool area was small & ordinary though the crowds seemed to be having a good time. The 2 restaurants I tried (Texan Station and Ama Lur) tended to be pricey and good but not great . There is a 24 hour coffee Starbucks type area which was convenient- good cookies- but stay away from the soggy sandwiches in the cooler. I also liked how there was a guest laundry available as well as a refrigerator in the room. The hotel is about 30 miles from both Ft. Worth & Dallas & is convenient to both (outside of rush hour). Overall a great experience.
