Review content:
This business refused to credit me for a shirt that was ruined by being laundered instead of dry cleaned. I have been a loyal customer of this Wilcox Cleaners at 12260 West 135th Street for a decade with no problems whatsoever. I have consistently spent about $1000/year with their business. Recently, one of my very expensive shirts was laundered with starch instead of dry cleaned. Upon discover, I brought it to their attention and asked them to dry clean it instead as the shirt looked terrible. After they dry cleaned the shirt, it still looked awful. I didn't discover this for about six months as the shirt was in the plastic and I didn't need to wear this shirt all summer and fall. When I noticed the terrible condition of the shirt after they dry cleaned it, I took it to them and asked for some sort of credit for this $150 Ted Baker shirt. The worker said that he would refer it to management. The manager, who is the son of the owner, called me and told me that they would not be providing a credit because it a was an ""old"" shirt and they dry cleaned it just as I requested. He also said that it had been 6 months. I went in with the shirt and explained to him that the shirt was not ""old"" as I don't wear ""old"" bad looking clothes. I further explained that it WAS dry cleaned only after it was errantly laundered, and the look of the shirt was the result of the laundering and starching process. He argued that the laundering and starching process would not have ruined the shirt to the capacity that it was in. I appealed to him that I wear very nice clothes, I've been a customer with them since they bought the business,I've NEVER had an issue with them before, and that I spend about $1000/year with them. I told him that if a full credit wasn't a solution for him, then perhaps a $75 credit might make me feel good about continuing to do business with them. Again, he refused, and I told him that I would take my business to one of the other 5 dry cleaners that I pass on the way to their store.
