Review content:
This restaurant recently reopened under the name ""Kansai"". They've remodeled the place, and it's a fresh change.\r
\r
While they have high quality fish, complimentary tea and miso soup, and traditional maki and nigiri, their non-traditional fusion rolls is where Kansai really shines.\r
\r
They serve up ENORMOUS colorful feasts of imaginative offerings unlike any other sushi restaurant I've been too. This is certainly not for the sushi purist. But those looking for a culinary adventure will find good reason to come back to Kansai again and again with their huge menu.\r
\r
People knock the music selection (which ranges from Barry White, to Moby, to jazz)...but I think it's a perfect match for their non-traditional cuisine. The only other gripe may be the ""tacky"" waiter call buttons on the table. A good idea I guess if your server is lagging.....but not exactly high class.\r
\r
Overall, an excellent place that is highly recommended. Some of the best sushi I've ever had in the Bay Area.
Pros: Quality Fish, Extraordinary Selection, Unique Ambience, Parking
Cons: Service staff very friendly...but young, ""tacky"" server call buttons on tables
