I represent a local yacht club and last summer had requested Mamaroneck Boats and Motors replace a starter & flywheel on the Club Launch due to intermittent grinding when starting. I did not request an estimate as I needed repairs done ASAP. I was told by Scott Duderman (owner)that flywheel needed to be inverted and starter replaced. I was billed approx $1800.00 and paid bill after approx 1 month as we pay all bills net 30. Two weeks later (6 weeks after repair) i called many times and finally spoke to Scott (owner) because I was having the same problem. I asked what warranty was as it WAS NOT stated on my invoice and he said he would get back to me. After about 2 weeks he e-mailed me that warranty was only 30 days and refused to repair the Launch. I said I was willing to work with him and I was willing to pay for a new flywheel if he would discount labor. He outright refused. After removing ""rebuilt starter"" we determined starter was never changed. Please be advised STEER CLEAR AWAY from M.B.M.
