I see that the last reviews (in 2010) were not very good. However, we LOVED the cozy atmosphere, the food and the service. The managers did not hesitate to ""help"" since they were shorthanded that day. I was raised in a homecooked restaurant where we, also, made everything from scratch (or nearly everything).
The apple fritter was heavy but not from too much oil. It had a ""ton"" of apples! Very good and that's coming from a person that does not usually even try apple fritters. The hash browns were out of this world good....and a lot of them. The ham was very flavorful. My husband is still talking about the restaurant (he had the kitchen sink skillet) and it's been 3 days since we were there! We will be returning.
