Review content:
Our photographer had no backup equipment and broken primary equipment and caused everything post-ceremony to run 45 minutes late. So, I was 45 minutes late to my own wedding reception because the church photos ran late and the park photos ran late. We had to pay overtime on the limo. She missed many of the shots on our list because she didn’t use the list. There is not one single picture of the groom by himself. But, at least we have photos because we have NO video. Apparently, both video cameras malfunctioned and there was nothing salvageable from the entire day. Both cameras on the same day for the same wedding malfunctioned with the result of frying the tapes. Apparently the “backup equipment” is used in conjunction with the primary equipment from the back of the church and the back of the banquet hall. So, they have two cameras on the ceremony one of which is the primary equipment and the other is the backup equipment. That seems extremely deceptive. We were also told ""this has never happened in the history of Essence."" Ask around like we did and you’ll find that it has happened. Plus, no one at Essence called us about it until we called them: 4 months after our wedding, right around the time the video should have been arriving. No one picked up the phone to let us know that we would have no wedding video. They mailed our tapes to some amateur video recovery place in California they found online. None locally? Video could not be recovered. After the recovery place mailed them back, Essence told us they lost them. Now, we don’t even have the tapes to take to a real recovery company. We would give anything for even a tiny snippet of video. Affordable photography nothing, I would rather have paid a different company more money for better results. Remember, your photographer and videographer are the only independent contractors that you still have to deal with after the wedding. Make sure you choose wisely and do not choose Essence. Cons: Poor quality, customer service, videography
