I have to say, I eat out a lot and this is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review. After hearing rave reviews from a friend and seeing the creative upscale menu on their website, I was excited to try this place. Everything on the menu SOUNDS great - ingredients like diver scallops, charred octopus, duck carpaccio. We tried a number of small plates on the menu, and the food ranged from mediocre to just plain AWFUL. The duck might have been good, but it was so coated with strong gorgonzola that you couldn't even taste it. The octopus dish was bland and so soaked with grease that my stomach hurt afterwards. It really seemed like the chef didn't have a clue what he was doing. Add mediocre ambience and service, and I was left feeling pretty cheated after the amount of money we spent on the meal. Seriously, I'm a food lover and usually find something to like even if a meal is not spectacular, but this was just BAD. There are SOO many great foodie spots in Culver City. There's no reason to waste your money here.\r \r PROS: creative menu\r CONS: AWFUL food, mediocre ambience & service, very overpriced for the quality
