My husband and I had been to the Chestnut Grill and Sidewalk Cafe multiple times, as it was conveniently located in our old neighborhood, and each time, the service and the food have been decreasing steadily. It's not bad food, but it's also not that great, and the same area (Chestnut Hill) has much tastier restaurants. Our breaking point came after our last visit this past Friday night when all we wanted was a couple of burgers after a long work week. The hostess told us that the wait was 20 minutes, but after an hour and change, we were still not seated. We wouldn't have had a problem if she had simply told us right off the bat that the wait was over an hour; we would have simply gone elsewhere. However, that was not the case. She kept getting confused between indoor and outdoor seating area customers; seated several customers ahead of us who were below us on the list and then, after telling us we were finally to be seated, ended up saying that ""It'll be another twenty minutes"", at which point we got up, went next door to Solaris and were seated in 10 minutes, and had our food in about fifteen more minutes. I don't think that we'll venture to the Chestnut Grill ever again.
