SCAM! I recently moved to Boulder City and was referred to Auto Specialists. I just called Channel 13 and I am taking legal action. Anyone else who is having an issue with this business should call Channel 13 too! I brought my car in for a simple oil change. They said the Serpentine belt needed to be replaced. I was suspicious as I just had it replaced but decided to go ahead anyway. A month later I brought my car back to have the rotors done, I knew they had to be replaced. Lee Hagen, via invoice H281335, said I had to have ceramic brake pads put on and was repairing the front rotors and the rear brake shoes. My bill was $663.98. Originally quoted as a $200 - $300 dollar job. Fine, if it needed it, then I was willing to pay. Two days later my brakes were squeaking. I was told to bring the car back in, which I would have I this not happened. My brother, on my referral, brought his car in for an oil change, much like I did at first. No where noted on his receipt did it state anything about an alternator or Serpentine belt. A day after he brought his car in to these people, a pin fell out of the alternator and his Serpentine belt, which was new and put in a month before, was ripped and looked like it was switched out with another, old one. My brother, and his child, were lucky they weren't stranded on the highway. When I called Lee to address my suspicions the first thing out of her mouth was ""I kinda figured you didn't make it in because there was a problem with your brother's car."" How would she know or assume this? Especially since she didn't note anything else being wrong on his receipt for the oil change? Luckily, my father came into town who is a mechanic and guess what.... the $663.98 worth of work on my car- not so, and my brother's car..... tampered with and screws were missing. I never had this many issues with my car. My old mechanic, who is in Summerlin, took care of both of our cars for years. Now, I move to Boulder City and all of a sudden both cars , after going to Auto Specialist, are having numerous amounts of problems. I also took my car to another mechanic to verify what my father was saying on both my brother's car and on my car. As a woman, who is often left at the mercy of a mechanic, I feel especially violated by Ms. Lee Hagen because she took advantage of my trust. I am filing with small claims court today.
