My first experience at Proof might have been my best overall dining experience in D.C. and I'm not exaggerating. A true wine lover, I was impressed with Proof's wine menu but more importantly with the service. From the minute we sat down at our table, our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, recommending wines, offering tastings, and creating a very fun atmosphere and experience for everyone. She was so warm and informative that one guest at our table actually had her surprise him by randomly choosing his entree and the wine to go with it! The food is fantastic as well. I recommend the steak and the warm hazelnut chocolate cake for dessert. Have your server recommend wines the whole night - I promise you won't be disappointed.
