Take it from someone who knows....I grew up in a neighboring town and went to college in Newark. Have been to all the so-called ""best"" places in the Ironbound. We always come back to Forno's - even though we now live 40 minutes away. IT IS THE BEST. I do not find the service to be rushed, it is efficient and that is what I like. The menu is the most diverse and food is the freshest. The Sangria is delicious and deadly! The complimentary salad they serve to start the meal is simple and satisfying. You could get filled up on the salad, bread and sangria alone here! Be sure to try the famous ""garlic shrimp"" appetizer and the veal mozzarella. Paellas are huge and packed with seafood and you won't get a better deal on a surf and turf. The valet parking is a MUST and I have never EVER had problems with it.
