Review content:
I filed a complaint with the Veterinary Medical Board with the State of California Consumer Affairs to report the unsanitary practices by vet and staff and also the filthy condition of the facility. I brought in my 14 yr old cat recovering from a really bad abscess on his head. The vet ""Dr. Gerry"" did not use gloves when he handled my pet and was rough in treating him. It's disheartening to know that people like him who do not genuninely care about animals are in the field he is in. At one point, he took scissors and without any form of anesthesia to lessen the pain, he began to cut my cat's open swollen abscess in order to enlarge the wound. He kept telling me that the cat did not feel pain when he did this (as my cat hissed and moaned). He quickly retracted his statement when I spoke up and told him that he was hurting my cat! He then said, ""oh yeah, that part does hurt the cat"". I was also deeply concerned about the way they clean up after their animal patients. I witnessed blood gush out from my cat to spill onto the examination table and floor as he poked at his sore to drain his abscess. In shock, I saw the vet tech clean up the mess with the same dirty towel he used on my cat for warm compression. NO ANTIBACTERIAL OR SANITIZING SPRAY WAS EVER USED. It worries me that another animal was seen directly after and put on that same examination table as bacteria and infections are easily spread, therefore potentially harming other pets who are already there because they are sick. \r \r Take your pet elsewhere....to someone who has more genuine sympathy for what your animal is going through and cleaner facilities. \r \r To other pet owners who want to complain about this veterinary office, I urge you to make an official complaint to the Department of Consumer Affairs Veterinary Medical Board. Because if a complaint is not official, this Vet office will not change their ways. \r \r Our pets deserve to have the same treatment we expect to receive when we go to our doctor's office. \r \r
