Review content:
Five of us went to Bess' yesterday for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, our waiter was charming, funny and attentive (wish I could remember his name to give him kudos) and the hostess staff was cheerful. Three of us had the Chicken Paillard, one had the Caprese Panini, and one had the Croque Monsieur. We shared a bite of each others dishes and they all got rave reviews. We all shared a Lemon Tart, Texas Snowball and Apple Crisp (with a birthday candle). All were wonderful. Loved the intimate and charming atmosphere. From where I was sitting (next to the beautiful fish tank) I had a perfect view of the Frost Bank Tower out the little street level window. I have only one small suggestion...the side salads could use a little more pizzazz. The food tasted of all fresh herbs & ingredients and is wonderfully presented. Can't wait to take my husband back for dinner. Good job Sandy! Pros: Wonderfully creative, fresh food combinations. Romantic ambience. Great waiter and hostess staff Cons: Salad needs a little more pizzazz?
