Yes, as the 5 Stars indicate, it is ""as good as it gets!"" This is the perfect description of a dining experience at Vic & Anthony's in Las Vegas, NV. As the former lead vocalist of the Buck Ram Platters, I have been exposed to some of the finest cuisine in the entire world. I have had Kobe beef, actually in Japan, where a 6oz fillet costs $125 and everything, including the potato, is extra. I have dined with the president and first lady of the Fiji, and attended a dinner held by the Duke of Windsor in England. I had the best fruit I have ever eaten served by a billionaire living in Japan. But I have never in my life tasted food as succulent and delicious as I enjoyed on the 13th of May, 2011 at Vic & Anthony's, located in the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino! The manager, Dave Marquez, a tall, suave and personable man, came over as my girlfriend and I were trying to decide what to order, and he made suggestions that contributed to an extraordinary dining experience. I went there knowing I wanted to try the crab cake appetizer, as so much had been written about it in many of the reviews I had read. However, Dave also recommended something new on the menu, scallops. He assured me that they were delicious, and then, just to make sure I really did try them, he sent over an order of the scallops to accompany my crab cakes, FREE OF CHARGE. I thought to myself, ""Man! This is service!"" And of course, Dave was absolutely right! The scallops just melted in my mouth! My girlfriend, who lives in a sea side village in Japan, is used to great seafood, but you should have seen her eyes light up the minute she tasted those scallops! The scallops (or was it the crab cakes), also came with a unique salad made up of apples, cut up like shoestring potatoes, mixed in a delicious mayo type dressing that had a dash of Tabasco sauce. It was so good we just couldn't get enough. And the crab cakes were so delicious that words fail to describe them! Our server, John, was unbelievable too! I have been to some of the greatest restaurants in the world, and have NEVER received better service. John, like Dave, was personable and helpful, very kind, and down to earth. It's no wonder this restaurant has a Michelin rating! The appetizers were awesome, and the night just kept getting better. Dave stopped by again and made some suggestions about the entrees. I was all set to order the bone-in Rib Eye for both myself and my girlfriend, but Dave suggested the Chilean Sea Bass for her. He told me that this was some of the most delicious Sea Bass in the world! He said it is flown in fresh from Chile early every morning, and then cut into fillets for the days entrees. Well, honestly, I was not too keen on it, but Dave had certainly steered me right on the scallop appetizer, so, Chilean Sea Bass it was. And OMG, again, this was melt in your mouth, hands down the best seafood ever! Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my cooked to perfection rib-eye, but that Sea Bass created an epicurean moment that I will remember for the rest of my life! Dave passed by again and just smiled when he saw the look of ecstasy on my face after tasting a little of my girlfriend's Sea Bass. I just shook my head in disbelief all night as first one magnificent thing after another poured out of the kitchen at Vic & Anthony's. If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, do not leave this city without visiting Dave and John at Vic & Anthony's. You may well remember it as the most satisfying and enjoyable dining experience of your entire life. I know I always will.
