Review content:
Have gone to this place several times since it took over the old Moe's location. Sushi has been consistently good and at a fairly decent price [their most expensive roll is around $17 but is full of expensive items, beautiful crafted and filling; vegetarian and typical (spicy tuna, California, etc.) rolls come as cheap as $3 or $4 and are still pretty filling]. If you're not into sushi, other typical Japanese fare (including chicken, pork and beef dishes) rounds out the menu. Everything comes with delicious miso soup! Also decent wine list with some Japanese beers. Beautiful ambiance with an interesting mix of music (outside of traditional or contemporary Japanese music, Rihanna seems to be the preferred artist... I've been to Kabuki a few times only to hear 5 or 6 Rihanna songs in one meal!).
Service, however, is a little shaky, You seem to get either really good, or really bad, service. I've been here with others with literally no one else in the restaurant, only to wait literally 25 minutes for my sushi order to be picked up, my ""waitress"" quickly scuttle by our table several times in order to not refill our drinks, and then see her stand in a corner stacking and restacking items so as to avoid being near us. Another waitress came in (with the other waitress still there, as she took another table's order once they came in) and did us very well; we made sure to leave the tip specifically for our second waitress. Similarly, I've had wonderful playful (teasing, joking, conversational) and helpful waitresses. Still, every once in awhile, I get service bad enough to wonder what goes through the mind of the manager who hires these people.
Sushi's still great enough to keep me coming back for more. Their Kabuki roll will have you craving nothing else!!
Pros: Consistently good sushi. Decent prices.
Cons: Hit or miss service.
