Review content:
I injured my knee over a year ago (playing basketball). I went to the emergency room and since they said ""nothing was broken"" I didn't panic. I realized several months later that every time I attempted to run I would fall. Foolishly I chalked it up to getting old, even though I'm only 37. Finally I decided to go to see Dr. Garnett in hopes of getting a cortisone shot for what I thought was arthritis setting in. Within ten minutes of being in his office he described everything that I had been feeling for the past year. To be cautious he sent me to have an MRI done. Within a week he called me back into his office to confirm his findings (chronically torn ACL, torn meniscus). He advised my options in detail and within twenty minutes I was able to make an informed decision on how to proceed. It's only been a six weeks since my initial diagnosis and I am already three weeks into my recovery thanks to Dr. Garnett and his assistant Cindy.
