Review content:
We have recently been remodling by daughter's house. We hired Silver Stone Designs, of Madison, TN. to install granite countertops in the kitchen. We picked out the granite and they came out and measured. Upon installation we noticed that at the seam they had cut the granite so that the pattern was going two different directions. One side pattern was going north and south and the other side was going east and west. It is very noticable. We contacted them and said that we were not happy. Karen Merritt, the owner, came out to look at it and said that it was fine. She said it had to be cut that way to fit all the pieces on the slab. We had talked about maybe needing two slabs of granite. We feel that when they saw that they couldn't get it out of one slab, they should have used two slabs to make it right. They did not call us and offer that solution. When Karen came out to the house she was very short with us and didn't seem like she wanted to rectify the situation. We still said that we were not happy. She said that she would talk to the guy that did the measurements and get back with us. Later we had the opportunity to talk to the installers and they told us that for the amount of square footage that we needed, they should have used two slabs. They also said that if they were to remove the piece now, the seam would not look good and the new piece may not match in color.\r Several weeks went by and we hadn't heard anything so we contacted Karen again. She was very short with my husband on the phone and even hung up on him! Apparently nothing is going to be done, since we have been charged the full amount. I feel if we would ever resell the house this would be a noticeable mistake and might hinder resale.\r We will not do business with this company again, nor will they get our recommendation.
