As a true native Texan, I can vouch for the authenticity of Dr. Hogly Wogly's. Despite the unfortunate name, the food is fantastic.
The beef brisket is totally awesome and like true Texas barbecue, requires no sauce whatsoever. The pork was great too.
The portion sizes were enormous for L.A. stomachs, so be prepared to take some home with you. The ribs and chicken will have you thinking you ordered a brontosaurus burger!
Don't bring a large group, as the biggest tables can accomodate 4, and with Texas-sized appetites, I'd recommend a party of 2 or 3.
Pros: Great Food, Very Fast Service
Cons: Small, Limited Parking, Van Nuys :-)
