Review content:
This restaurant was recommended to me by the late Honorable Mayor Maynard Jackson himself, may he rest in peace. We saw Mayor Jackson, who was a big jolly eater, in the parking lot. My friend was going on about what a great mayor he was, I said, ""well I just wanna know what you had for lunch!"" He laughed and said, ""oh try the falafels, they're the best in town."" From then on this became one of my favorite places for wraps, chicken wings, and of course falafel, and the carrot cake which is a well kept secret. Apparently there is a new owner and you can tell the difference. My falafels were really dry and crunchy and when my waitress asked to have them done over a loud argument ensued in the kitchen about how they were just like they're supposed to be. I went to tell them to forget it because I don't like people arguing over my food, and much to my surprise the owner was one of the people arguing that they were fine and that's how they're supposed to be. My waitress had to stick up for me, and they made them over but they were still inferior. Today I went and ordered a $7.95 Grecian Salad. It consisted of a big bowl of iceberg lettuce, 2 thin slices of green pepper, 2wedges of tomato, and 2 kalamata olives. We asked for a few more olives so they brought out 2 olives rolling around on a saucer, and we were told that the owner said that's all you get. I told the waiter to let her keep them because she might need them. Maybe she can put 'em back in the jar and sell 'em again. Better to raise the price of them salad and make it better than to be so stingy. People coming for the first time might think it's pretty good but old-timers will soon notice that it's going downhill fast due to the mean-spirited stinginess of the new management. This is a case where under new management is not a good thing. I'm sad that I won't be able to go there any more:-( Pros: Servers try to give good service Cons: Cheap owner, inconsistent food quality
