Certainly The Counter has the best selection of burger toppings, sauces, buns and extras.
Customers check off their choices and hand a slip to the waitperson (hard to be critical of the service, which consists of handing your order slip to the cook and bringing the results to your table ...) The French fries are disappointing, I would recommend the Hamburger Hamlet-style onion rings instead. I dont drink alcohol, but the wine list looks good for what is basically a burger joint.
Very pleasant atmosphere. The location is a bit awkward, mostly because Ocean Park Blvd. is divided; if you approach from the west you will have to go almost 1/2 mile past to find a legal U-turn. Park behind the mini-mall or underneath; the entrance faces Ocean Park. The tables get a little crowded at peak times, but there is usually space at the counter.
