Review content:
The atmosphere to this restaurant is romantic and cozy. You forget that you're in a strip mall. We were seated promptly and the service was attentive. The simple problem is this: the food wasn't that good. We began with the complimentary bread and oil. The oil was so lightly seasoned as to be almost tasteless. And the bread appeared store-bought. It was warm but not hot, which seemed to be the theme of the evening. Our shrimp appetizer came in a lukewarm creamy tomato sauce that could have used more seasoning. And it would have been better if piping hot. We had a salad of mixed greens, goat cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes that was quite tasty. For an entree, my wife had the signature dish of Chicken Mezzaluna--breast of chicken stuffed with sausage and other goodies. It was pretty good, but again could have been hotter. I had the gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce. There wasn't anything to the seasoning except the taste of gorgonzola. And the food arrived lukewarm at best. It was cool by the time I finished. This dish especially needed to be served piping hot. The dessert of tiramisu and creme brulee was fine but not spectacular. There are better Italian values for the money at chain restaurants like Johnny Carinos or Carrabas. Even Olive Garden is a little better, though that's cutting it close.
Pros: Atmosphere and service
Cons: bland lukewarm food
