Review content:
I purposely did not buy a 6 treatment hair removal pkg right up front. I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to hurt and that it would work! Besides, some of us don't have $1250 (or more) to throw down without batting an eye! Single treatment price for upper+lower legs =$250 each time. 1st & 2nd sessions went fine, tolerable with minor results. BTW - I'm light skin w/dark hair. The hair on my lower legs did grow in thinner/more sparse, but on my upper legs, esp. inner thigh, I saw no diff. Went for my 3rd session yesterday & was shocked when I was asked for $350 instead of $250! When I balked, she said ""Oh yeah, we raised our $$. If you had bought a pkg, you would've been locked in at the lower rate."" Excuz me?! That's more than just ""raising your prices!"" That's a 40% increase!! FORTY PERCENT!! How many of us receive 40% raises, or 40% cost of living adjustments?! Good cust. service would've been to offer an opportunity to buy the rest of my pkg at the original price. In addition to the raised prices, they switched estheticians on me without notice! I?ve nothing against the woman who did the treatment (lower legs only, btw - couldn't afford $350 on such short notice!). We had a nice conversation and she seemed quite competent. A heads-up call would've been nice though. They could?ve called to say ""Your appt was scheduled with Katy but she's no longer avail. during that time. We scheduled you with Chelsea instead. Is this ok, or would you prefer to resched?"" That's called Customer Service, folks! COMMON COURTESY!! If I had a Dr. appt & my Dr. had a sched change, the office would?ve called to let me know and offer an alternative, or to reschedule. Laser Hair removal is a MEDICAL PROCEDURE - why is it okay to switch practitioners on the patient without notification?? I'm not unhappy with the treatments, but I'm DEFINITELY unhappy with the business practices at Aura. With that steep of a $$ increase I will definitely be researching other options!
Pros: Friendly Staff, Drs. on-site, Full Service
Cons: No loyalty to existing clients; busy clinic means you might not get the Esthetician you were scheduled for
