Surprise ! Surprise!\r
My wife son and I were in a daring mood and wanted to try one of the areas many highly touted Indian restaurants. We whittled the choices down to three and luckily chose Rangmahal. The place was empty when we arrived, but this was to our advantage as we were given a friendly and thorough tour of the menu by our helpful hostess. She made suggestions not according to some formula or what she had been told to push, but tailored her ideas to our tastes. Even the beer she suggested, Old Monk, was a good one. As to the food itself, it was out of this world. My son's garlic chicken--too generic a name for such a complex dish--was a perfect blend of savory with a hint of sweet, creamy without being overwhelming, and the chicken itself was to die for. Although my chicken dish clearly contained many of the same ingredients as my son's, it was a whole 'nother experience. And the breads! Amazing. Their chili nan was worth the trip. As my wife said, ""I've never had bread be the hottest or most fascinating course."" The help was professional and attentive without being overbearing or chummy. The chef was a proud and pleasant man who was gracious in his thanks. Best Indian cuisine I've ever had.
Pros: Food, friendliness, professional service
