I finally fired Clear after a few months. I really wanted to give them my money, but they just couldn't deliver. It worked great for a couple of months, and then I started having problems. The modem kept dropping the connection (as much as 5-10 times per hour for 5 minutes each!). I gave their tech support many chances to fix it. First, they gave me a new modem, Then, they kept trying to tell me it was my router (but the problem occurred when my router was not plugged in!), or the rain on the tree leaves (it hadn't rained in 2 weeks!), or that the modem was pointing in the wrong direction (I tried them all!). They would not send a tech out because my signal was too strong (4-5 bars), never mind that the signal wouldn't stay on consistently. In the end they insisted it was my router and would not listen to reason -- if the problem occurs when the router is not even on, then it's not the router. At that point, I decided I wasn't going to argue any more and fired them.
