The Stonestown YMCA is on the small side, but still has a pretty good selection of equipment and machines. The upstairs room is great: rows of treadmills and ellipticals look out onto Eucalyptus Avenue, and there is a lot of room for situps/stretching. The downstairs weight room is kind of dark and depressing however, with no windows and out-of-date treadmills that face the wall (but bonus: there are TVs). The pool is nice but can get really crowded. The Y is definitely an unpretentious gym: the staff is friendly and the crowd is older. It's a well-priced, decent gym if you live in the area, but nothing extraordinary. Pros: friendly environment, not usually crowded Cons: out-of-date machinery, ambience lacking
