These people are criminals...if law was on the side of the consumer, rather than business. They sold my brother a used car (for substantially more than its Blue Book value in good condition) that was back in the shop within days of the sale for engine trouble. They said they needed to replace the engine, but with a used engine that had only slightly higher mileage than the original (the original had 66K, the replacement supposedly had 72K). After two oil treatments, multiple sensor failures and SEVEN trips to the mechanic, it was determined that the needed repair, at $750, was not covered by warranty and would be owed by my brother. While Twin City Nissan claimed not to know the mileage on the replacement engine, the parts supplier confirmed that the actual mileage was 120K, not 72K. According to an attorney, that and other aspects of this transaction were covered under breach of contract and that he definitely had a case, but it would be risky in terms of what my brother would owe up front. So instead of doing the right thing and simply taking this obvious lemon back, returning my brother's money and letting him go elsewhere to purchase a vehicle, they demanded their loaner car back and gave him the choice of whether to pay for the $750 repair on the lemon (and whatever other likely repairs the car would need) or trade in the lemon (for thousands less than he paid for it) on a more expensive car. In other words, they get back what they put into the lemon by keeping my brother's money, then make even more money by selling him a more expensive car (which they required he buy from them). This business' license should be revoked. They are peddling vehicles that are not in drivable condition, then forcing the unsuspecting customer into coughing up more money, simply because law allows them to do so and folks are afraid of losing money through a lawsuit. There are plenty of other places to buy a car; places who understand the value of customer service and the risk/benefit of allowing such a thing to take place. Sure, they may have made a few thousand from my brother, but they are going to lose a lot more than that when people realize the danger they are in when purchasing a used vehicle from Twin City Nissan in Alcoa, TN.
