Review content:
This is the best public course I?ve ever played. (I?ve been playing for 40 years.) Don?t be fooled by the lousy website or the less than warm greeting you will get on the phone or in the pro shop. What they lack in marketing skills, they more than make up for in a great golf experience. The course is in a golf neighborhood, which frankly I was suspicious of. Too many times it feels like you are in somebody?s backyard in some golfing communities. But not a Buffalo Creek, the houses are set back far enough and the layout is such that you barely notice them. And the layout of the course is great - a good mix of long and short holes. Enough make-able pars to keep you interested, but no hole feels like it was put there just to take up space. Each hole has its own personality and the terrain changes are terrific and challenging. Bunkers are strategically placed and the sand traps keep you honest. The greens, while a little small, are very interesting. They need to do some work on a few of the tees as a few were not flat. I asked for membership information at the pro shop and they had none. The guy running the pro shop seemed like he would rather be sailing, so that is the only negative about the place. But since I didn?t plan on spending much time in the pro shop, who cares about him! I can?t wait to go back and play the course again.
Pros: Course layout is interesting and challenging
Cons: Marketing stinks, not friendly in Pro shop
