Review content:
Yesterday a few friends and I visited Track 21 to take advantage of some Groupons that we had purchased.\r
\r
Upon arrival at Track 21 we attempt to walk in the automatic door with the large arrow indicating the entrance. That door was locked, along with all but one main door. Not that big a deal right? However when thinking about fire code and trying to use the same doors to leave in case of an emergency the story changes. Imagine a group of twenty people trying to leave where one quarter of them get stuck at locked doors, thus forcing them to try and squeeze through one exit. \r
\r
Quoting the Houston fire code: \r
"" Sec. 8.007. Exit Doors \r
\r
During the period of occupancy, no exit door shall be locked, bolted or otherwise fastened or obstructed by any means so that the door cannot be opened from the inside by use of the ordinary latch or knob or by pressure on the door or on a panic release device.""\r
\r
This is a clear violation.\r
\r
To continue on with my story, we were notified that they would not accept the Groupon due to a corporate event. This would not normally be a problem, however yesterday was the last day the groupon was valid. There were at least tweleve other people, with more coming in the door later trying to use this same groupon.\r
\r
The manager, Ian, who seemed to have no authority on anything in the establishment made a few nervous phone calls to this mysterious general manager who was unwilling to budge and provide any sort of customer service.\r
\r
After a second phone call, some ten minutes after Ian recieved a tounge lashing from 12 angry customers he called again to which the general manager agreed to making all of us wait two hours, which was past closing time, to then do our fifteen minutes of race time.\r
\r
In the time that we spent arguing, we could have done our race and been out the door happy customers. Instead they would not budge or provide any sort of refund or accomodation, aside from making us all sit around for two hours.\r
\r
Stay away at all costs, it is not worth it. I have many more complaints regarding the rest of the staff and lack of customer service, but that is not worth my time to go into all the specific details.\r
\r
Pros: None to speak of
Cons: Everything about the establishment
