Of all the preschools in the Herndon/Reston area, Miss Peggy's Preschool stands out as the best! My husband and I looked into many local preschools before choosing Miss Peggy's Preschool. We were looking for a preschool that would give our daughter the most positive and caring experience possible for her first exposure to a classroom setting. The teacher and owner (Miss Peggy) is the most enthusiastic, caring, motivating, and experienced teacher that we interviewed.
We also love the small class size - there were just 5 other students in the morning classes with my daughter (ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old). This gave my daughter lots of individual attention from the teacher. Within just the first few months of attending Miss Peggy's Preschool, I noticed a great deal more confidence, independence, and maturity in my daughter. My daughter returned this year for the afternoon classes (ages 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 year olds) and loves it! I am confident that her experience at Miss Peggy's Preschool will help her to be ready for kindergarten next year.
The school helps develop the social, emotional, academic, behavioral, and physical skills needed to prepare for kindergarten. The children spend time outside playing together every school day (weather permitting) in addition to art projects, circle time, music/singing, story time, etc. Miss Peggy gives me great feedback in person after each school day and there are 3 parent/teacher conferences each year.
I strongly recommend this preschool and its summer camps to all of my friends, family, and neighbors. Children are eligible to start at 2 years old (potty training encouraged but not required) and continue until they are ready for kindergarten (5 years old).
