Review content:
We celebrated my birthday dinner at Huarache Azteca last night. This was our first visit and we were thrilled with the entire experience. This not your typical chain version of authentic Mexican, it's the real thing. Both traditional and gourmet items were served with great attention to details. The decor was colorful and there was an open show kitchen with counter seating. There are about 15 tables. \r \r We shared a number of dishes: Everything was well balanced and all the sauces were flavorful but never overpowering. Mixed seafood Ceveche was served from a pewter dish on a pastry style tortilla. The Fresh Guacamole was served in a rustic wooden vessel, Shrimp cocktail was a clean, fresh briny in a slightly sweet tomato base.\r \r Our overall favorite dish was one of the house specials, Pollo Oaxaca, a stuffed and roasted chicken breast (stuffed with a savory combination of roasted corn, squash and cheese) set on a bed of garlicky sauteed spinach in a pool of mole, with a side of cilantro flavored ""green rice"" and a side of black beans. This dish had layers and layers of flavor that really worked together.\r \r We also shared an amazing chocolate flan (amazing because it was light and rich at the same time)\r \r We saw some other dishes that looked great! A fried whole fish, pork ribs and giant burrito are on are list of things we want to try in the future. \r \r Oh, and we didn't mention the prices, where were remarkably reasonable.\r \r Would we go back AND recommend it to our friends? ABSOLUTELY! Pros: Authentic food, attention to details, VERY well prepared and Great prices Cons: street parking could be tricky
