Review content:
Oh for the Gameworld of yesterday. It's almost tragic what this place has become today. I recently took my visiting niece and nephew, and was surprised at how shoddy the place had gotten. 5-6 of the games were just plain out of order, and we constantly had to ask for assistance with a few others (A word to the wise: Stay away from their air hockey tables unless you like frustation. Puck got stuck every single time.) The regulation bowling was fun, but unfortunately to purchase it we had to be accosted by one of the employees who decided he needed to upsell (no, I don't believe my purchase of a 10.00 game card means I want a 40.00 game card and a climb on the death trap they call a rockwall). The clerk we spoke with almost tried browbeating us into buying a more expensive card, and signing up for their email list. Nevermind the fact that this man was too busy to help us out with the fact that the games were no working correctly. Later when I asked another of the employees to speak with a manager about his overall attitude, I found out that he was the manager, and apparently their repair person as well!
It seems like something has gone horribly awry over at Gameworld, which has become less of an arcade and more of a Bowling alley that has Ms. Pacman and Rambo.
Though I will admit, the pizza was better than I expected.
In summary, here's some things to avoid if you are forced to waste your money here:
Rob (short guy)- Pushy, sleazy manager
Air Hockey Tables
Route 44 Duck Pin Bowling (Balls constantly getting jammed)
House of the Dead 2 (Gun Calibration is way off)
Photo Booth (3.75 for a picture that may or may not actually come out!)
Pump it Up! (Freezes and resets spontaneously)
Racing game next to House of the Dead 2 (can't remember the name, but we tried it twice and both times it froze.)
Overall, very dissatisfied, which is disappointing because it used to be one of my favorite places to go in Boise. Definitely will not be making a second trip until the management pulls it's head out of it's rectum and restrains their overbearing manager and maybe get their games actually working.
Pros: Regulation Bowling, Classic Arcade games
Cons: Broken games, very pushy/rude staff
