MASSAPEQUA PARK BEWARE!\r
My family and I had been loyal customers of Veranda II for years —which was why the appalling behavior displayed by the owner “Frank” himself during our most recent visit truly stood out and prompted this review. The food was of poor quality—from hard pasta, to overcooked baked clams, to frozen chicken, to a raw $50 platter of baked salmon—all combined with incredibly slow service despite the restaurant itself being half full. To avoid complaining, our family dealt with all of the above, thinking they were just having an off night, until the salmon came out raw. After another half hour and the returned salmon platter had still not been brought out, I asked for the owner Frank, who proceeded to cut me off after I POLITELY asked for the salmon to be returned and removed from our bill—and noted that if I don’t like his food then don’t come back— again directed towards a family that has been coming to his restaurant for years. If the service and food had an off night and as the owner, he would have handled himself in a more professional manner, we may have returned again. But after being treated the way we were by Frank, my family will not be returning nor will any of our friends and family. Shame to see such a good neighborhood restaurant go downhill the way this one has.\r
