Review content:
As I was searching to see if Simon's Camera had a website up yet, I stumbled across this site and decided to place my input. I've been a customer's at Simon's since the late 80's when I was just starting out as newb to photography in the Photo 101 class at LACC and have since gone on to pursue a career in wedding, corporate and special event photography. I deal with a number of photography store in the Los Angeles area and Simon's has always been a pleasure to do business with. Their prices are competitive and although they may not always have what I'm looking for at the time, they do everything within their ability to point me in right the direction so that I can get what I need, even if it leads me to their competitors. I distinctly remembering when I first started out that the staff never made me feel inferior or stupid when I asked sometimes mundane photographic questions and were willing to listen and assess my needs in order to make suggestions for equipment to purchase as in some cases, to not purchase. Even to this day Simon is still there behind the counters serving and conversing with the customers. If you're looking for a more personal experience and staff that doesn't seem annoyed because you have a question or questions which will take time to answer or treats you as a commodity, then Simon's is the place to go to! As for the comment by 'alju', $250 for $650 isn't too far fetched in terms of what is to be expected of selling equipment. Second hand equipment to a store will usually fetch you approx 25% to 35% of the value depending on the current demand for the equipment and 45% to 65% on eBay or Craigslist. This is comes from personal experience of selling my old equipment as I upgraded my stuff for work. I hope this helps.
Pros: Great service and attentiveness to the customer
