Review content:
I can't believe no one has written about this place yet. I just had to after the Valentine's dinner that my boyfriend and I had this past week. First let me say that I've tried everything from traditional authentic Mexican food with sopes, chilaquiles, etc, to tex mex, to upscale mexican/modern cuisine and Guacamole has everything! I found that a lot of the traditional restaurants such as in Jackson Heights lacked an atmosphere. You wouldn't be able to tell by the outside, by Guacamole is not your typical Mexican food restaurant. Almost every dish is prepared with such care, we got a side a guacamole, which wasn't prepared table side for a ridiculous price like some other places, and I had never tasted such an amazing creamy guacamole. I didn't know it could be creamy, my boyfriend said its because of the quality of avocado they used. I've tried many things from the enchiladas suizas, burrito or quesadilla de pollo or tinga and all are amazing. Now they have a liquor license which is an even added bonus!
I used to live in Astoria and we ate here about a year and a half ago and we had a wonderful waitress who we spoke to all the time. We sat in ""our"" table each time. Last we saw her she was pregnant, so we hope she is doing well and will be back soon! At the end of the valentine's dinner they presented the check with a rose - this place is the best!
Pros: Amazing food, friendly service, drinks!
Cons: too far away from my home now
