Review content:
This restaurant is attached to the Maui Beach Hotel in Kihei. We were staying next door at the WorldMark Resort and visited here for a casual breakfast. The restaurant is mostly open to the ocean breezes, which adds to the fairly plain interior. Unfortunately, though you can feel the breeze from the ocean, there is no view (obstructed by buildings across the street). If S. Kihei Rd. is busy, there can be a bit of noise from the street. We were there fairly early (8am) and were seated right away. Breakfast offerings are pretty standard, with omelets and eggs benedict, and pancakes, fruit, etc. The eggs and bacon my husband ordered were served with scoops of rice (plate lunch style). They also had banana macadamia nut pancakes (a common offering in Hawaii, I think). My husband liked his meal and said it was filling and tasty. My pancakes were very good. The batter produced a pancake that was more like a thinner version of a crumpet (lots of holes, light and fluffy). This allowed for the butter and coconut syrup to just ooze into the pancakes (a very good thing). There were 3, large pancakes that took up the whole plate, so I was unable to finish the whole thing. If you are staying close by in Kihei, this is a great spot to catch a good breakfast. I can't speak about lunch or dinner, as we were always elsewhere. Service was capable and prompt, but I can imagine it might be a little slow if the restaurant were more busy.
Pros: Great banana macadamia pancakes
